WHAT ARE THE GED TESTS?
 

* The GED Tests are five tests in the areas of Writing Skills,
       Social Studies, Science, Reading/Literature, and Mathematics.




The questions in each of these tests require general knowledge, comprehension and problem solving skills. The GED Tests are designed to measure the knowledge and skills, usually attained during four years of high school.
 
 

WHAT ARE THE TIME LIMITS FOR THE TESTS?


Test 1 Writing Skills (multiple choice & essay) 75 minutes (multiple choice)
45 minutes (essay)
Test 2 Mathematics (two sections, one with
calculator and one without a calculator)
45 minutes (with calculator)
45 minutes (without calculator)

Test 3 Science  80 minutes
Test 4 Social Studies 70 minutes
Test 5 Literature and Reading 

65 minutes

SUCCESS

Each person who successfully completes the GED Tests will receive a "State of Indiana General Education Development (GED) Diploma."
 
 

 REQUIREMENTS

* Must be a resident of Indiana.
* Must present three forms of identification, one must be a picture ID with current address.
* Must be at least 17 years old to take the GED Test.
* If 17, must have an Exit Interview from an Indiana high school and pass the GED practice test.
 
 

TEST APPLICATION

*  The GED Test is administered at Chauncey Rose, 1275 3rd Avenue by appointment only.
*  Call Cynthia Binns at 812-462-4070 before making application.
*  Application must be made in person with picture ID
*  Test fee is $60.00 payable at the time of application.
*  Individual re-test fee is $12.00.
